Senior AV Installation Technician Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AV Installation Technician to join our team at Diversified. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of installation duties on technology projects for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with project management, field superintendents, and other stakeholders to fully understand project requirements and roles.
  • Interpret drawing packages to create the basis of finished systems, including displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, and other AV equipment.
  • Lead and delegate tasks to install crews, subcontractors, and union trades, and may be required to lead a team on large projects.
  • Verify all work complies with Diversified's and clients' quality control standards, and oversee field operations in situations without a dedicated on-site superintendent.
  • Perform physical installation of a wide variety of technology into a wide variety of locations, including construction sites and office environments.
  • Execute a variety of cabling terminations for wire and connector types, and verify crew terminations to our standards.
  • Support the preparation of equipment racks for staging of equipment, including wire lacing, power strips, grounding bars, jack-fields, and other equipment.
  • Able to read and understand functional design drawings and cable riser diagrams.
  • Able to perform mounting of base build equipment, such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors.
  • Provide a consistent level of technical performance, as well as flexibility in work schedule, and may be required to work overtime and weekends to meet client deadlines.
  • Able to complete assignments in accordance with or better than established task durations, and estimate task durations to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Able to build and wire custom panels from engineering drawings.
  • Advanced fiber optic cable handling, installation, termination, repair, and testing.
  • Generate cable labels and manage all wire listing activities for cable labels per our standards.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining their toolkit, company vehicles, and installation materials inventories, and keep clean, orderly, and well-documented.
  • Responsible for checking in drop-shipped items and maintaining on-site materials needed by the crew, and working with the PM to assure timely delivery of on-site equipment and materials.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining their personal licenses, certifications, and qualifications, and adhere to our insurance requirements.
Requirements:
  • High school or GED equivalent.
  • 5 or more years as an installation technician or related industry experience.
  • Experienced with leading or managing a team or project.
  • AVIXA CTS Certification is preferred, AVIXA CTS-I Certification is highly desired.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and adhere to our insurance requirements.
  • OSHA 30 Certificate required.
