Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Building Inspector to join our Planning and Development Department. As a Building Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to ensure compliance with city codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings to identify any defects or non-compliance with city codes and regulations.
  • Review and analyze construction plans and blueprints to ensure compliance with city standards.
  • Investigate building code violations and respond to inquiries and complaints in a fair and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade.
  • Two (2) years of responsible journey level experience in relevant trades or as a contractor in a variety of construction activities.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience performing residential, commercial, and industrial building inspections.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
