About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Transmission Planning Specialist to join our team at Eversource. As a key member of our Electric Operations department, you will play a crucial role in planning and designing the electric power system.

Job Summary

This is a hybrid role that requires both technical expertise and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for conducting transmission studies, developing system models, and representing the company on regional and national committees. Additionally, you will work closely with other utilities and the Independent System Operator (ISO) to prepare regional transmission expansion studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain system models for transmission studies, including collection, review, and modification of electric system parameters.
  • Conduct adequacy assessments and develop options to meet delivery objectives, with latitude for independent action and decision-making.
  • Represent the department and the company on various industry-related committees.
  • Participate in the preparation of regional transmission expansion studies.
  • Employ teamwork with engineers in System Planning, Transmission Asset Strategy, and engineers and operating personnel elsewhere in Electric Operations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Five plus years' experience in directly related roles.
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of programming languages such as Python and power system analysis tools like PSSE, TARA, ASPEN, PSCAD.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strategic partnerships.
Compensation and Benefits

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program, with an annual salary range of $122,000-$140,000, plus incentive. The exact salary will be commensurate with your experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Please note that responding to emergency situations to meet customers' needs is part of every employee's role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment, which may require working outside of normal responsibilities, work hours, and location.
