Grants Post-Award Manager

This position is responsible for providing consultation, program administration, expertise, and high-level management & coordination of post-award financial operations for College of Engineering faculty in their ongoing efforts to execute external grants. The Grants Post-Award Manager plans, analyzes, and organizes daily activities, manages data, and processes various employment documents as submitted by grant PIs and department chairs. The position confers and collaborates with the Division of Research and Economic Development to ensure budgets and expenditures are within guidelines of the appropriate funding agencies' policies and regulations, and the COE. The Grants Post-Award Manager collaborates with COE team members to optimize College award-related processes and procedures; and manages an electronic filing system of documents prepared for PIs. The position provides PIs with monthly grants/contracts budget statements to assist them in managing their spending rates.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
North Carolina A & T State University is a public land grant high research activity institution committed to dedicated teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service. The University enrolls approximately 13,487 students. The College of Engineering, with over 2,402 students, has EAC ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio-, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CAC ABET-accredited program in Computer Science. At the Graduate level, the College has 8 Master's of Science Degree programs and 5 Doctoral programs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
A minimum of 4 years of experience relevant to the responsibilities of the position; evidence of grant budgeting preparation and detail-oriented; proficient in Banner, university financial systems, and e-mail; excellent organization skills, including the ability to manage a variety of tasks and set priorities; general knowledge of grant processes and agency requirements; and prefer Certified Research Administration certification training and/or certification credentials.
Required License or Certification
This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
