Job Title: Shipyard Fabricator

Gulf Marine Repair is seeking a skilled Shipyard Fabricator to join our team. As a Shipyard Fabricator, you will be responsible for providing lay-out, assembly, fitting, tacking, welding and finishing of shipyard components and assemblies in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lay out work independently and read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Visualize two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions and follow established jobsite safety and regulations.
  • Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary, and assist in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and workpieces during installation.
  • Use appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, bend, fit and weld steel and to install all other related items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications.
  • Perform other routine duties as directed by experienced craft workers.
Requirements:
  • High School education or GED.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of shipyard or industrial construction experience.
  • Ability to take proper measurements and show willingness to learn the trade and advance.
  • Proficient in welding (preferably).
  • Ability to take on a project from start to finish with little guidance.
