Role Summary
This role is for a substitute educator in our Early Childhood program, specifically for children in Pre-Kindergarten to Kindergarten. The position involves stepping in for teachers and assistants during their absence, ensuring a seamless learning experience for our young learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Assist in the organization and preparation of classroom materials.
- Lead and facilitate group activities, promoting engagement and learning.
- Support the pedagogical approaches of the teaching staff while adhering to the school's educational philosophy.
- Review lesson plans to understand objectives and expectations prior to leading a class.
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages emotional and physical safety for all students.
- Prepare necessary materials for daily activities and assist in snack distribution.
- Help maintain the organization of students' work and classroom resources.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom at the end of each day.
- Maintain educational materials in good condition for ongoing use.
Qualifications
- Understanding of the developmental needs of young children with appropriate expectations.
- Experience in working with children in an educational setting.
- A Bachelor's Degree is required.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
- Proficiency in the French language is advantageous.
- Ability to manage a classroom of young children independently.
- Completion of 6 ECE Units is required; 12 ECE Units preferred.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability are essential.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory.
Compensation
The salary for this position is competitive, with daily rates structured as follows:
- Short-term substitute (1-12 weeks): $150.00 per day
- Long-term substitute (13+ weeks): $175.00 per day
