Position Overview:
We are in search of a dynamic and experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorney to become a vital part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of insurance coverage issues and will be responsible for delivering legal counsel to our clients on matters related to insurance coverage, policy interpretation, claims, and litigation. This role involves managing complex insurance coverage litigation from start to finish, ensuring optimal outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in insurance coverage litigation matters.
- Draft detailed coverage opinions concerning first-party breach of contract and/or third-party liability claims, including related bad faith issues.
- Defend insurance companies in first-party lawsuits.
- Analyze various insurance coverage policies, including commercial and homeowners' policies.
- Prepare and present cases in court, arbitration, and mediation settings.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and due diligence to support case preparation.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Develop strategies and negotiate settlements as appropriate.
- Stay informed on current insurance laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsels, judges, and other parties involved in the legal process.
- Ensure compliance of all legal documents and proceedings with applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in insurance coverage matters.
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Proven track record defending insurance companies in first-party lawsuits.
- Proficient in drafting coverage opinions involving first-party breach of contract and/or third-party liability claims and related bad faith issues.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze insurance coverage, including commercial and homeowners' policies.
- Strong experience in taking and defending depositions.
- Excellent legal writing and communication skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong ethical and professional standards.
