About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Superintendent MOD to join our team at Schindler. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing field technicians in the installation of hydraulic, gearless, and geared elevator modernizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage field technicians in the day-to-day operations of modernization projects
  • Participate in field surveys for prospective modernization projects and prepare proposals and bids
  • Determine the scope of work required and manpower needed to complete projects in a timely and profitable manner
  • Order parts and materials as needed
  • Build a team environment by leading field technicians
  • Manage training and development of field technicians
  • Foster excellent communication among team members and with the local union
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are met on all projects
  • Monitor job completion and drive efficiency
  • Implement customer and company requirements for quality, performance, reliability, and passenger safety
  • Support the local sales team in estimating bids and investigating customer complaints
Requirements
  • BS/AS degree in Engineering, Management, Supervision, or Business required
  • Journeyman Technician experience with minimum 5 years in the field required
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the elevator industry, construction industry, or related building systems industry
  • Prior experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce preferred
  • Computer proficiency required
