About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Cell Development Specialist to join our team at First Solar. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing chemical processes to enhance thin film solar cell performance and stability, while reducing manufacturing costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform material and device research to optimize solar cell efficiency and material selection
  • Develop and execute experiments in laboratory and manufacturing environments to characterize development engineering processes
  • Apply statistical and engineering methods to optimize organizational effectiveness and improve methods for use by others
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and develop solutions
  • Train, mentor, and manage junior associates as needed
Requirements
  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or similar technical discipline
  • Master's Degree in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline and 3 years of relevant technical experience, or 2 years of experience as a Development Engineer I at First Solar
  • Comprehensive understanding of functional business units core area, with expert knowledge in at least one chemistry field
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and derive conclusions
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Travel and Work Environment
