Position Overview

As a Senior Field Engineer, you will take on a pivotal role as the primary engineer on various projects, directly reporting to the Project Manager. You will lead both field and office engineers, ensuring that all engineering tasks are executed with the utmost professionalism and integrity.

Your responsibilities will encompass contract management, project scheduling, and comprehensive reporting. You will also provide valuable insights to Project Management regarding contractual and legal matters, as well as other project-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications for field teams and craft supervisors.
  • Conduct quantity takeoffs and assess the completion status of materials and work.
  • Assist in developing work plans and packages.
  • Support field surveying and layout tasks, including elevation and control points.
  • Compile and verify daily labor timesheets.
  • Prepare Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Manage material orders and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate work groups on-site and oversee field operations.
  • Perform engineering calculations and technical drafting to support operations.
  • Assist in preparing purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Maintain project records, including daily reports and correspondence.
  • Support the review of cost reports and assist in generating change orders.
  • Provide oversight for subcontractor activities and analyze historical project data.

Qualifications
  • Willingness to travel and relocate as necessary.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction fieldwork.
  • Experience in engineering and leading engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Proficient in reading and analyzing engineering plans and specifications.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites in various climates and conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities.

Compensation

Base Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 per year (subject to variation based on education, experience, and location).
