SUPERVISOR: Program Director
ROLE SUMMARY:
The CIS Program Site Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of the program at the designated educational facility. This role involves collaboration with school leadership, educators, students, families, community stakeholders, and other relevant parties to ensure the effective delivery of Communities In Schools initiatives within the Southeast Harris and Brazoria County regions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Facilitating services for designated students during school hours and potentially before and after school.
- Conducting interviews with students and/or guardians to assess challenges related to personal, familial, financial, and social circumstances.
- Gathering relevant medical, psychological, and social information to evaluate the student's situation and capabilities.
- Providing individual counseling and support to students, assisting them in utilizing their strengths and available resources to enhance their social skills.
- Encouraging students to adjust their attitudes and behaviors through increased self-awareness and understanding.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of community resources and connecting students and families with appropriate services.
- Documenting interactions and preparing reports, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
- Reviewing service plans and conducting follow-ups to assess the effectiveness of the support provided.
- Collecting and maintaining records of student and community resource information.
- Gathering supplementary data such as free and reduced lunch eligibility, disciplinary records, and academic performance to accurately assess student needs.
- Engaging volunteers based on their interests and expertise.
- Collaborating closely with school principals to tailor programs that meet the unique needs of each campus.
- Achieving CIS program objectives through personalized mentoring, counseling, and organized group activities aligned with CIS's core components.
- Organizing and managing student case files in accordance with CIS standards.
- Designing and implementing program strategies to effectively address student needs.
- Building positive relationships with students, parents, guardians, and school staff.
- Possessing knowledge of resources available in the Southeast Harris and Brazoria County areas.
- Interacting positively with a diverse range of individuals from various sectors.
- Submitting reports and information punctually.
- Demonstrating a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a positive attitude.
- Overseeing program planning and the execution of objectives.
- Facilitating workshops as directed by the Executive Director or Program Director.
- Encouraging parental involvement in school activities alongside their children.
- Coordinating recreational and extracurricular activities to boost student self-esteem and developmental skills.
- Collaborating with parents, students, and staff on fundraising initiatives and providing financial summaries post-events.
SUPERVISION:
The CIS Program Site Manager reports to the Program Director of Communities In Schools – Texas Joint Venture.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Education, or a related discipline is required.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar environment, with the ability to engage effectively with students and families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following skills and abilities are essential:
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting various documents.
- Capable of responding to inquiries from the school community.
- Adept at presenting information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect data and draw conclusions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn and utilize specific software for data management.

Possession of a valid driver's license is required, as travel may be necessary for home visits, meetings, and training sessions.
