Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vascular Sonographer to join our team at Wellstar Health System, Inc. as a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of vascular ultrasound procedures, including 2D scans, duplex imaging, Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) with and without exercise, and doppler studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform vascular ultrasound procedures, including 2D scans, duplex imaging, ABI with and without exercise, and doppler studies.
  • Measure and calculate data according to laboratory protocol.
  • Provide written or oral summaries of preliminary findings to interpreting physicians.
  • Ensure patient safety and well-being at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Be flexible with work hours to meet department needs.
  • Be dependable, accountable, and cooperative.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program.
  • Successful completion of a Sonography Training Program.
  • Minimum 1 year clinical experience.
  • Registered Medical Sonographer (RMS) certification.
  • ARRT Vascular Sonography certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Reg Vascular Specialist certification.
  • Reg Vascular Technologist certification.
  • BLS - Instructor certification.
  • BLS - Provisional certification.
