About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Fire Alarm Systems Specialist to join our team at Wachter. As a specialist, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and upgrading fire alarm systems in various locations across the United States.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels based on building plans and electrical layouts.
  • Mount sensors at appropriate locations, performing tasks such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing crawlspaces or attics.
  • Evaluate all work to ensure compliance with current codes and regulations.
  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
  • Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations to ensure fire alarm systems meet electrical and fire codes.
  • Test newly installed fire alarm systems and component devices to ensure they are operational.
  • Troubleshoot new system installations to guarantee proper functioning and adherence to local, county, state, or federal codes, legal, and/or insurance requirements.
Requirements:
  • NICET certification is preferred but not required.
  • Able to travel independently.
  • Current/valid state-required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in applicable technology.
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
  • Knowledgeable about NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.
  • Experience in burglar alarms access control, and CCTV is a plus.
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Certified to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, and able to work at heights.
  • Basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation are essential.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.

  • $22-$45 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
