Job Overview

The selected candidate will be responsible for the sterilization, preparation, and distribution of medical supplies and reusable medical equipment for the healthcare facility.

The role involves receiving contaminated critical and semi-critical reusable medical equipment (RME) in the decontamination area, as well as handling non-critical equipment.

Qualifications: Candidates who are in the process of completing educational or certification requirements may be considered for preliminary selection but must fulfill all requirements before final hiring.


Essential Requirements:

Citizenship:
Must be a citizen of the United States.

English Language Proficiency:
Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

Foreign Education:
Education obtained outside the U.S. must be evaluated by a recognized organization to ensure equivalency to U.S. educational standards.

Experience and/or Education:
Candidates must possess either six months of relevant experience or educational qualifications that include at least 6 semester hours in healthcare-related courses. A combination of experience and education may also be considered.

Preferred Experience:
1-2 years of experience as a Medical Supply Technician.

Physical Requirements:
The position requires work in various environments, including decontamination and preparation areas. The incumbent may encounter challenging conditions such as temperature variations and potential hazards associated with handling medical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Receive and process contaminated RME in the decontamination area.
2. Disassemble RME and select appropriate cleaning methods based on manufacturer guidelines.
3. Inspect and prepare items for sterilization, ensuring proper packaging and methods are utilized.
4. Conduct daily operational checks and maintain documentation for all processes and equipment.
5. Complete necessary training and maintain certification as required for the position.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday; specific hours will be determined by operational needs.

Additional Information:
This position does not offer telework options and is not eligible for relocation incentives.
