Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced behavioral health inpatient environment
  • Utilize discretion and independent judgment to prioritize and coordinate care
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to a team of licensed and unlicensed staff
  • Participate in unit milieu management and conduct hallway and room monitoring
  • Act as a patient advocate and ensure compliance with patient rights and 5150 laws
Requirements
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills
  • Basic knowledge of mental healthcare regulations, 5150 laws, patient rights, and accreditation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of sobriety required for staff and at least five years for management
  • DNP degree to be completed two and a half years post-hire date
