Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to lead our team in maintaining and repairing our owned equipment and cranes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a commitment to ensuring our equipment operates at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision: Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians in the shop, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Oversee the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of heavy equipment and cranes, including hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Inventory Management: Manage parts and supplies inventory, ordering necessary parts and ensuring the shop is well-stocked and organized.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including service logs and work orders.
  • Training: Train and mentor new and existing team members, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between the shop and other departments, including project managers and field crews.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy equipment and crane maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems in heavy construction equipment and cranes. Friction crane experience preferred.
  • Relevant certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence), OEM training, or similar are preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage multiple tasks, and handle pressure effectively.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
