We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician 2 to join our team at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. As a key member of our Facilities Management department, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, troubleshooting electrical control circuits, and diagnosing mechanical problems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure efficient operation and prevent downtime.
- Use electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair HVAC electrical control circuits.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Operate common hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical testing devices.
- Utilize knowledge and skills in Building Automation Systems (BAS) to complete tasks as needed.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Graduation from high school or equivalent and two years of experience.
- E.P.A. 608 Refrigerant certification.
- Ability to act as a lead technician and provide guidance to other technicians.
- A competitive salary range of $42,011 - $51,418.
