We're a family-owned grocery store based in the Carolinas since 1922, dedicated to creating a unique shopping experience for our customers. Our bakery is a key part of this experience, and we're looking for a skilled Cake Decorator to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and interacting with guests in a polite and friendly manner.
• Prepare products for sale, including icing, decorating, pricing, packaging, and labeling.
• Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness, ensuring a high standard of presentation and quality.
• Perform bakery clerk functions as requested, including handling customer transactions and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Clean and maintain work areas, equipment, and decorating tools, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
• Communicate customer requests and temperature breakdowns to management, ensuring prompt attention and resolution.
• Rotate products, including icings, and maintain a clean and tidy supply area.
• Use cake production sheets and reference materials to ensure accurate and efficient production.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the cake section of the bakery, contributing to the store's overall success.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management, including Front Porch duties and product receiving and storage.

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing personality with excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work well with others, lifting 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction, with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
