Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate on Treatment Plans: Work alongside physical therapists to create tailored treatment strategies for patients, addressing their unique needs and rehabilitation goals.
  2. Administer Therapeutic Techniques: Implement prescribed exercises and manual therapy techniques to assist patients in improving their physical capabilities.
  3. Provide Direct Patient Care: Engage in hands-on therapy, including massage and mobility exercises, to support patient recovery and enhance their quality of life.
  4. Track Patient Progress: Regularly evaluate and document patient advancements, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans and communicating effectively with the therapy team.
  5. Educate Patients and Families: Guide patients and their families on exercise techniques and rehabilitation practices to foster independence and prevent future injuries.
  6. Manage Therapeutic Equipment: Set up and operate various therapeutic devices under the supervision of a physical therapist.
  7. Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure comprehensive documentation of patient treatments and progress in compliance with legal and professional standards.
  8. Ensure Patient Safety: Create a secure and comfortable environment for therapy sessions, monitoring patient well-being throughout.
  9. Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  10. Adhere to Professional Standards: Uphold ethical practices and legal requirements in physical therapy, ensuring patient confidentiality and respect for individual rights.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the relevant state.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to perform therapeutic activities and assist patients.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and therapeutic principles related to physical therapy.
