Apple is seeking a highly skilled Mac Systems Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Mac System Architecture team, you will be responsible for influencing and driving new product designs in charging and power management.
This is a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional lead engineering role that encompasses all aspects of Computer System design. You will have the skills and experience to create system architectures, surprise and delight our customers, and advance our products' performance, size, power, thermal, and cost goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing system architecture guidance
- Establishing and driving workload power budgets at system and module levels
- Performing and guiding peak power measurements on device hardware to help validate power models
- Determining product system integration feasibility, via collaboration with mechanical, physical, thermal, and electrical engineering collaborators
- Authoring system architecture specifications, block diagrams, and conducting reviews with the product teams
- Collaborating with performance architects to define, model, and drive improvements in performance, power efficiency, and cost
- Analyzing, guiding, and supporting thermal management solutions and trade-offs
- Anticipating future SoC requirements and negotiating with internal SoC teams to align with system product goals
- Being innovative and curious

Requirements
- At least 10 years of relevant industrial experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
- Experience with Lithium-ion batteries and USB Adapters for charging and analyzing end-to-end system charging behaviors
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical breadth across several computer subsystem technologies
- Ability to create, review, and approve engineering requirement specification documents
- Understanding of schematics, PCB layout & designs; experience in bring-up, system debug, and hands-on lab environments
- Ability to comprehend the roles of HW/FW/SW layers and how they interact in system design
- Ability to summarize and effectively communicate technical issues and actions to key collaborators and leadership team
- Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
