We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Program Coordinator to join our team at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a key member of our Pulmonary Services team, you will play a vital role in coordinating care and disease management for patients with chronic conditions or those requiring advanced bronchoscopy or pleural procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Patient Care: Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and families, ensuring seamless coordination of care across multiple settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient and outpatient procedure rooms, and the community.
- Intake and Referral Management: Receive and process urgent referrals, request outside records, and assist with scheduling of clinic appointments, testing, and procedures.
- Clinical Coordination: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care from referral to discharge and follow-up.
- Communication and Education: Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure optimal care and outcomes. Educate patients and families about disease processes, preparation for procedures, and post-discharge planning.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, such as gathering information for history and physicals, documenting evaluations and assessments, and coordinating lab and diagnostic procedures.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: RN, BSN required; Three (3) years of nursing experience; Pulmonary experience preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required.
Working Conditions
This role is primarily performed in an outpatient setting, with occasional hospital components, such as rounding on patients with the team.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
