Job Title: Medical Surgical RN Travel Nurse

Travel Nurse Across America is seeking a highly skilled Medical Surgical RN to join our team for a travel nursing assignment in Utica, New York.

We are looking for a Medical Surgical RN with 1-2 years of recent acute care experience to join our team. As a Medical Surgical RN, you will conduct patient assessments, prioritize data collection, and provide ongoing care as ordered by a physician. You will also document patient findings, provide education and support to patients' families, and participate in discharge planning.

  • Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
  • Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
  • Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
  • Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
  • Educates patients on surgical procedures.
  • Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

As a Medical Surgical Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, treating patients who may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative. You will need to be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty, and lift up to 50 pounds at times.
