Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing, analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions and completing tasks within the allowable time frame
  • Assume responsibility of the department as needed, demonstrating good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results
  • Complete all required records and documentation pertaining to patient results, performing stat procedures within established turnaround time targets
  • Review pending logs and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief
  • Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results

Requirements:

  • A 2 Year/Associate Degree is required; a 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred
  • ASCP certification (or equivalent) is preferred or the ability to obtain a license within the first 6 months of employment
