Job Summary: O. A. Newton is seeking an Assembly Technician to join our team in Harrington, DE. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling machinery and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, and job orders to ensure accurate assembly
  • Align and fit components to achieve proper operating performance and appearance
  • Work with various electromechanical systems, including motors, pulleys, bearings, pumps, blowers, pneumatics, and PLCs
  • Perform rigging of larger components in a safe and controlled manner
  • Test final assemblies to ensure functional requirements are met
  • Monitor inventory of components and ensure production schedule deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with engineering to correct problems and make product improvements

Requirements:

  • Ability to use a wide range of power tools and hand tools
  • 2 years minimum experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with mechanical systems
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and use independent judgment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Effective communication and understanding of job instructions in English
  • Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane/forklift
  • Ability to lift lbs. when required

Working Conditions:

The employee will regularly be required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Ability to work overtime.
