Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Ascension. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of surgical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and assemble surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to established protocols.
  • Correct instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets.
  • Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
  • Perform regular quality assurance program audits of peers.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: One or more of the following required:
  • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
  • Additional Preferences: 1-year experience as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred.
