The Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool ED position at Baylor Scott & White Healthcare is a dynamic opportunity for a licensed professional to utilize the BSWH nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery by the healthcare team.
As a Float Pool RN, you will assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate patient responses. You will promote safe passage for patients by utilizing knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients in transitioning through the healthcare encounter without preventable complications or delays.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of nursing and patient care standards and procedures, as well as laws, rules, and regulations governing the provision of nursing care. You will be responsible for creating an attentive, helpful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing plan of care
- Identify and prioritize patient and family needs
- Participate in quality/performance improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized plans of care
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology, health promotion, risk reduction, illness and disease prevention and management, medications and drugs, and medical and professional nursing ethics
