Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist or Forensic Psychologist to join our team at StateJobsNY. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct services to high-risk individuals in a forensic setting, including counseling, development of High-Risk Behavior Support Plans, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct services to high-risk individuals, including counseling and risk management.
  • Develop and implement High-Risk Behavior Support Plans.
  • Conduct specialized forensic assessments, including risk assessments and high-risk capacity assessments.
  • Provide training to staff on forensic behavioral, psychological, and risk issues.
  • Participate in daily team meetings and special meetings as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate issues related to behavior management and clinical practice.
  • Coordinate psychiatry services for high-risk forensic individuals.
  • Work across teams and units to provide necessary psychology coverage.
  • Assist with dissemination of information regarding discipline-specific training and research findings.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in psychology or related field.
  • Two years of post-master's clinical psychology experience in a clinical, forensic, community mental health, or school setting.
  • Experience in administering assessments and tests for diagnostic psychological evaluations.
  • Experience in developing behavior support plans and writing psychological treatment plans.
  • Experience in providing psychological counseling and treatment in areas such as mental and/or emotional disorders, cognitive disorders, behavioral disorders, and substance abuse disorders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in clinical psychology.
  • Experience in a forensic setting.
  • Experience in providing training to staff on forensic behavioral, psychological, and risk issues.
