Technical Writer

GGS Information Services, a leading technical publications and engineering services company, is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join their team.

This role involves creating high-quality technical documentation from source material, including engineering prints, Service Bulletins, and Changes in Design. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and components, as well as experience with desktop publishing software such as Arbortext, FrameMaker, and InDesign.

Key Responsibilities:

• Author technical documentation from source material
• Develop automotive and heavy equipment troubleshooting, operator, and maintenance manuals
• Interface with engineers, technical writers, product specialists, and technicians
• Interpret blueprints and detailed engineering specifications
• Work with a personal computer and various software, including desktop publishing, spreadsheet, word processing, illustration, and database programs

Requirements:

• High School diploma, with vocational, career, or related technical studies in technical writing or engineering
• 3-5 years of Technical Writing experience
• Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and components
• Familiarity with heavy equipment, construction, and agriculture product lines
• Knowledge of Technical Documentation, including Repair/Service Manuals, Operator Manuals, and Installation Procedures
• Proficiency in desktop publishing software, including Arbortext, FrameMaker, and InDesign
