Position Overview:

The New Graduate Nurse operates under the close supervision of a Registered Nurse within a clinical environment, actively engaging in the patient care process. This role includes orientation to the RN responsibilities, excluding independent nursing tasks. The individual may assist in medication administration under the guidance of a licensed RN.

Position Details:

Important Note: RNs with less than 12 months of experience prior to joining must obtain their BSN within five years of starting.

Minimum Qualifications:

New Graduate RN - Unlicensed

Starting Pay: $30.87

  • Completion of an accredited Nursing/RN education program (verification required).

Registered Nurse - Licensed

Starting Pay: $34.19

  • Current RN License in the state of practice.

Licensure Requirements:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

The New Grad RN position is designated for individuals who have recently graduated from nursing school and have not yet taken the NCLEX, or for RNs with less than one year of experience. New Grad RNs are required to provide transcripts confirming graduation and will work under the supervision of a licensed RN until they pass the boards and their RN license is validated. In conjunction with their clinical duties, New Grad RNs participate in a comprehensive one-year nurse residency program designed to facilitate their transition from academic learning to practical caregiving. This program includes 72 paid clinical hours, webinars, simulations, case studies, and quarterly in-person meetings.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for visual acuity to read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.

  • Frequent interactions with patients and healthcare providers requiring effective verbal communication and auditory comprehension, especially in emergency situations.

Manual dexterity is essential for handling complex and delicate equipment with precision, including frequent computer use for documentation and medication preparation.

  • Expected to lift and utilize a full range of motion to assist patients, including bending to retrieve and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights.

Ability to walk and assist with patient transport and distribution of supplies, which may involve pushing or pulling heavy equipment in busy environments.

  • May be required to maintain a stationary position for extended periods.
