Job DescriptionWe're seeking a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant to work collaboratively with our Urology Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urology and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities- Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
- Order or perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Formulate a working diagnosis and develop a treatment plan
- Review lab and imaging results, discuss with supervising physician if needed, and develop a course of action for complex cases
- Prepare surgical packets for OR cases, including completing H&P and reviewing each chart to ensure the supervising physician has all necessary information
- Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and offer counseling and education to meet patient needs
- Request, receive, and sign for pharmaceutical sample prescription medications and distribute them to patients in a specific practice setting
- Order and prescribe medications pursuant to N.J.S.A 45: et seq.
- Complete clinical forms to obtain prior authorization for prescription drugs and participate in peer-to-peer review when required by the insurance company
- Serve as the first point of contact between staff and supervising physician, handling callbacks and making appropriate referrals
