About the Role

Georgia Crown is seeking a highly skilled IT Manager to lead our software systems team in McDonough, Georgia. This is an in-person position that requires no remote work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Oversee software systems employees within the IT department, including Developers, Analysts, and BI personnel.
  • Recruitment and Training: Perform interviews, hiring, training, counseling, performance reviews, and termination of direct reports.
  • Operational Direction: Provide operational direction for software and application needs of the business.
  • Project Management: Act as the Project Manager for application development, enhancement, and implementation projects.
  • Collaboration: Work with departmental managers to define short-term and long-term needs of the business.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with office staff, warehouse, delivery, sales, and corporate departments to ensure a teamwork atmosphere and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism at all times, including attire, conduct, time management, and proper follow-up.
  • Change Management: Create and maintain Change Management processes for all software and application changes, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Specifications: Work with Business Analysts to provide specifications for application projects.
  • Hands-on Support: Provide hands-on support to Business Analysts and Developers as needed.
  • Implementation: Manage the implementation of on-premise and cloud applications.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills and the ability to handle multiple problems without losing composure.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate good organizational and written skills.
  • Software Lifecycle Experience: Require software lifecycle experience.
  • Technical Skills: Possess experience with RPG development or implementing and supporting similar technologies.
  • ITIL: ITIL certification is recommended.
  • Logical Troubleshooting: Possess solid logical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with the IT team, users, leadership, and vendors.
  • Education: Possess a four-year degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Transportation: Possess reliable transportation and the ability to maintain 100/300/100 insurance limitations.
  • Background Checks: Pass background checks, including police backgrounds and reference checks.
  • Motor Vehicle Record: Pass a motor vehicle record check to establish employment eligibility.
