Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Prosthetist and Orthotist Clinician to join our team at Hanger. As a clinical expert, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care to patients, leveraging your exceptional training and collaborative clinical community to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians to evaluate patient needs for prosthetic and orthotic services
  • Examine and evaluate patient needs, formulating design of prosthetic and orthotic devices
  • Perform fittings, instruct patients in device use, and provide follow-up with patients and physicians
  • Utilize effective materials management, quality, and performance processes to maximize device quality and medical efficacy
  • Maintain a balance with costs and operational/financial performance
Requirements
  • Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC)
  • Baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, or foreign equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and driving record within Hanger's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures
  • In states where licensure is required, ability to obtain and maintain state licensure

  • Thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Effective communication skills, ability to instruct clinical and non-clinical personnel and customers
  • Active listening, reading, and comprehension skills, ability to assess patient condition and advise physician on treatment options
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as a team member
