Pit Loader Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pit Loader Operator to join our team at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc. in Lithonia, GA.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to maximize productivity and minimize wear and tear. This will involve recognizing and estimating weight when loading trucks and in stock piles, performing manual labor in outdoor and all weather conditions, conducting pre and post shift inspections and maintenance on equipment and working environment, and working on off shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to ensure efficient and safe production
• Monitor and maintain equipment to prevent wear and tear
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve production goals
• Perform manual labor in outdoor and all weather conditions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two years of heavy equipment experience preferred
• Open pit mining operations and aggregate products experience a plus
• MSHA training a plus
• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, reaching, grasping, squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements, use of wrists, use of feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment
