About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Federal IT Proposal Writer to join our Business Development team at DT Professional Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, compliant, and compelling content for federal government contract proposals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement proposal content plans based on industry best practices and company standards.
  • Draft and edit technical and management content for proposal responses to DoD and non-DoD contract opportunities.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and executives to create original content and edit in-house reuse material.
  • Conduct research and analysis to develop technology use cases and task-based documents.
  • Write, edit, and manage internal technical communications for the proposal development team.
  • Coordinate with software developers, project managers, engineers, and other subject matter experts to create and update in-house documentation and reuse materials.
  • Coordinate reviews, provide comments, and facilitate discussion among stakeholders to resolve information discrepancies and secure final approval of proposal and non-proposal documents.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of proposal writing experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in DoD contracting, DoD IT Services, and/or DoD solicitation response.
  • 2+ years of proposal writing experience supporting IT services, software development, and IT management for federal solicitations/RFPs.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
  • 2+ years of experience writing best practices and tools.
  • 5+ years of experience with online collaborative and production platforms such as Google (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets), Smartsheets, Microsoft Office/Office 365, and Adobe.
  • Team player with excellent time management skills and ability to meet multiple concurrent deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) certification.
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology.
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clauses and compliance.
  • Experience leading proposal teams with 2 or more company partners.
  • Ability to serve as volume lead or proposal manager, as needed, on opportunities commensurate to experience level.
