About Our Hospital

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital with more than 360 beds, offering a wide range of services including 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.

The facility is home to St. David's Children's Hospital, St. David's Women's Center of Texas featuring a Level III NICU, a Kidney Transplant Center, and the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. We are part of St. David's HealthCare, one of the largest healthcare systems in Texas and the third-largest employer in the Austin area.

Job Description

As a Transition Nursery Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for coordinating and providing direct patient care to newborns. This includes accessing and reassessing respiratory and airway support, thermoregulation, and metabolic stability as needed. You will also develop care plans that promote, facilitate, and maintain newborn wellness, administer medications as needed, provide neonatal abstinence scoring and urine/meconium collection, and perform blood glucose and SaO2 monitoring and lab work.

You will act as a mentor to Labor and Delivery and Mother Baby Nurses during busier times, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless transitions of care. Requirements
  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • 1 year of experience in Newborn, Mother Baby, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, or Newborn Transition care setting
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience
