Job Summary

Parra Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to support our client located at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.

This successful candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, installing, integrating, and maintaining backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks, including portions of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and the Global Information Grid (GIG).

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Design and Planning: Develop network architecture for adjacent, higher, and lower units, as well as for allied nations, other government agencies, and commercial service interfaces.
  • Requirements Gathering: Gather requirements from user, Operational Need Statements, and Capability Production Documents (CPD) for Army's tactical communications systems and translate requirements into technical solutions that are standards-based and cost-efficient.
  • Network Engineering: Responsible for the engineering design, development, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of the tactical network.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support in PM TN equipment labs and develop equipment and network configurations and products.
  • Technology Insertion: Support technology insertion testing relative to emerging PM TN Networks requirements and capabilities.
  • Virtualization and Storage: Knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies from VMware, EMC, NetApp, Microsoft, Dell, HP, and others.
  • Cisco Experience: Cisco Experience to include Cisco IOS and NXOS, Cisco ISE, Cisco UCS Networking and Configuration, Cisco ASA.
  • Routing Protocols: Routing Protocols BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP as well as proficiency in MULTICAST; a background with designing and implementing LANs and VLANs.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Subject Matter expert with VOIP, Cisco Call Manager, Call Manager Express, Redcom Sigma Core.
  • Network Protocol Analysis: Experience with network protocol analysis using Sniffer, wireshark or similar tool.
  • Army Software Baselines: Familiarity with Army Software Baselines and Architectures.
  • Microsoft and Active Directory: Experience working with Microsoft and Active Directory.
Qualifications
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • BS in Engineering, Testing, or a Related Field
  • Minimum of Ten (10) Years of Related Tactical Network Engineering Experience
