Overview

We are seeking a highly specialized Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Allergy, Asthma & Immunology procedure-based clinic in Albany, NY. As a key member of our team, you will provide state-of-the-art care to patients with allergy and asthma conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical reasoning skills, proficiency in allergy-specific procedures, and excellent communication skills.

Job Description

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide direct patient care, patient triage (in-person and telephonic), assessment, planning, directing and evaluating of a patient's specific care plan and clinic visit. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare providers to ensure high-quality care for patients. Key responsibilities include:
  • Obtains and accurately records patient's vital signs; reports abnormal values to treating provider
  • Documents components of patient's history (Medical, Surgical and Social) in EHR
  • Gathers and enters data for asthma control test and for peak flows of diagnosed asthma
  • Provides nursing support to all providers/fellows in the clinical setting
  • Administers medications and treatments to patients in clinic, under the direction of a physician or APP

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:
  • Associate's degree of a state accredited Registered Nursing program
  • NYS current RN licensure
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior clinical nursing experience
