About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Patent Classification Specialist to join our team at Clarivate Analytics. As a key member of our Patent Search and Innovation Intelligence Services Team, you will play a critical role in determining appropriate application classifications in accordance with the Cooperative Patent Classification (CPC) system and United States Patent Classification System (USPC).

Key Responsibilities
  • Master the patent classification process and assign classifications in accordance with the Cooperative Patent Classification rules and definitions.
  • Classify applications related to specific technologies and continually expand your knowledge and expertise into new technologies.
  • Work closely with others in a team environment to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or physics.
  • Experience and/or significant coursework in areas such as circuits, electronics, electrical systems, power systems, semiconductors, optics, testing systems, digital signal processing, etc.
  • At least 6 months of work experience with research via work, internships, or volunteering.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have resided in the U.S. for the past two consecutive years.
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, previous experience with intellectual property, circuits, electronics, electrical systems, and the ability to work independently without excessive supervision are highly desirable.
