Job Title: Registered Nurse - Critical Care Unit

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care team. As a Registered Nurse in our Critical Care unit, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in our Critical Care unit will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. You will also communicate effectively with various healthcare team members, patients, and their families, and coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Critical Care unit
  • Assess and diagnose patients' physical and emotional needs
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Coordinate and delegate patient care activities
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC's nursing organization
Requirements:
  • Active or pending Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • 1+ years of RN experience preferred
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain units
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic computer proficiency
