The Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, built on SAP technology, serves as the Department of the Navy's (DON) core financial and supply chain information system. With the deployment phase completed, the program is now focused on sustainment, aiming to enhance and expand its functionalities. The Program Executive Office for Manpower, Logistics, and Business Solutions (PEO MLB) PMW 220 is tasked with delivering sustainment services, which encompass lifecycle management, system stabilization, optimization, and ensuring audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Master SAP Solutions Architect: Acts as the primary technical authority on intricate and demanding IT projects. This role may involve leading a team across various technical disciplines or working independently as part of a development team. Responsibilities include designing and developing software applications and database systems, assessing hardware and software, planning communication and information needs, conducting system tests, and ensuring system security. The architect provides consulting during the initial planning and conceptual phases of large-scale projects, engaging in all project stages from problem identification to resolution and from feasibility studies to implementation. This position frequently manages multiple tasks simultaneously, analyzing workflow, organizational issues, and planning, while formulating corrective actions and delivering presentations at technical meetings and design reviews. Reports to the Program Manager, Project Manager, contractor management, and government representatives. In the absence of the Program Manager or Project Manager, may act as the authorized liaison with the Contracting Officer's Representative/Technical Representative (COR/COTR) and government personnel. Develops architectural documentation as necessary and supports the AWS cloud strategy.

Senior SAP Solutions Architect: Provides strategic guidance on the overall SAP Technology Infrastructure in alignment with IT and business objectives. Responsible for evaluating, developing, and maintaining the SAP infrastructure roadmap to streamline complexity and enhance cost efficiency. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of SAP architecture, industry trends, strategies, and products to optimize corporate assets.

Role Expectations:

  • Engages in workshops with operational system owners to understand the implications of security classification guides across NAVY ERP.
  • Offers RICEFW expertise to assist team members in data discovery and impact assessments.
  • Facilitates data discovery initiatives by analyzing the display and flow of sensitive information.
  • Contributes to essential documentation, including project requirements matrices, functional and technical specifications, levels of effort, and data flow mappings.
  • Architects both existing and future systems.
  • Formulates and advocates for a forward-looking strategy within the program.
  • Creates and maintains architectural documentation.
  • Delivers strategic solutions to the technical team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in managing classified data and understanding security classification guides (SCG).
  • Familiarity with Naval information systems.
  • Experience with interfaces between enterprise business systems.
  • Prior knowledge or experience with CRS/CS/IPAC/CIR Navy Systems.

Required Specialized Experience:

Master Level:

  • 15+ years in a software discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP Infrastructure, particularly in SAP Basis, Security, Change Management, SAP Integration technologies, Development Workbench, Memory Management, and Workload Management within SAP CCMS.
  • Proficient in HP-UX UNIX, Oracle RDBMS, and Windows platforms.
  • Experience in development with ABAP, SAP BW, Fiori, JAVA, or .NET.
  • Experience in SAP Sizing, Workload Characterization, and Capacity Planning.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent teamwork abilities, particularly in virtual, cross-functional teams.
  • Technical and management leadership experience on significant tasks or technology assignments.
  • Ability to establish goals and plans that align with project objectives.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge in SAP domains.
  • Experience managing customer interactions and negotiations with senior management.
  • Proven decision-making skills with critical impacts on project implementations.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies.
  • Understanding of DOD architecture frameworks (DODAF) or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).

Senior Level:

  • 10+ years of progressive technical and strategic experience in software engineering, planning, design, analysis, and development of complex software applications.
  • 5+ years in various SAP disciplines and post-production support.
  • Ability to apply functional and technical expertise to enhance business performance and resolve integration issues across SAP modules.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies.
  • Understanding of DOD architecture frameworks (DODAF) or The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
  • Experience in development with ABAP, SAP BW, Fiori, JAVA, or .NET.
  • Knowledge of SAP Infrastructure and Architecture, focusing on SAP Basis, Security, Change Management, and Integration technologies.
  • Federal experience required; DoD experience preferred.
  • DoD clearance required (must be clearable).

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical, engineering, scientific, managerial, business, or related discipline; an Associate's Degree with two years of relevant experience may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree.

Special Requirements: Must be a US Citizen and eligible for a DoD secret clearance at the start date.

Compensation: $130,000-$210,000. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
