Job Title: Clinic Nurse, RN, LPN, or MA

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinic Nurse, RN, LPN, or MA to join our team at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. As a Clinic Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and advocating for our patients' needs.

Job Summary:

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing nursing care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance, and restoration of patients' health and wellness within their scope of practice. This includes evaluating patient/family response to nursing interventions, acting as a resource for the nursing process, and guiding and directing patient care activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates patient/family response to nursing interventions and acts as a resource for the nursing process.
  • Guides and directs patient care activities for the above-indicated population, utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills and evidence-based practice.
  • Triages patient phone calls and assesses for level of care needed, referring to physicians or providing nursing intervention as assessment indicates.
  • Assists the physicians/midlevel provider in patient care activities, including consultations, exams, procedures, follow-ups, and treatments.
  • Serves as an educator to patients and families regarding management of parental and oral antineoplastic therapy administration, safe-handling, medical adherence, and side-effect management of said therapy.
  • Collaborates with members of the inter-disciplinary health care team to achieve desired patient care outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a school of nursing is required.
  • A current Iowa License as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is required.
  • Nurse may be required based on Department needs.
  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
  • Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines.
