Financial Planning and Analysis Role at Hargett Hunter

Hargett Hunter, a unique private equity investment firm, is seeking a skilled Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) professional to support the growth and success of its portfolio companies. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in shaping financial strategies, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Modeling and Analysis: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making, scenario planning, and long-term forecasting.
  • Budget Creation: Assist with creation, management, and review of company-wide budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform in-depth variance analysis to compare actuals against forecasts/budgets, identify trends, and highlight risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Periodic Reporting: Interpret, analyze, and present financial reports, providing insights to senior leadership on financial performance and business trends.
  • KPI Creation and Tracking: Assist with development of, and lead tracking and report on, key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and optimize company performance.
  • Data Extraction and Accuracy: Pull data from various systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, financial software) using APIs, SQL queries, or CSV files, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data sets.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Support on strategic projects including mix analysis, capital allocation, real estate analysis, and vendor/partnership analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and senior management, to support financial planning initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and systems, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a similar analytical role.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency working in database tools and Excel for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience working with financial systems.
  • Ability to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data from various sources.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Private Equity backed companies.
  • Experience working with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of database management systems.
  • Prior experience with restaurant or multi-unit operations.
