Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures to evaluate pathological entities, working under the direction of a Radiologist. Your expertise will be essential in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices.
Key Responsibilities- Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
- Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional information about patient medical history as necessary.
- Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock, including linen and related supplies.
- Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform radiologic procedures, manually controlling equipment to obtain diagnostic information.
- Select and administer intravenous contrast media, monitoring patients for possible reactions and providing immediate care if necessary.
- Perform imaging procedures, demonstrating principles of radiation protection, including shielding patients, selecting equipment settings, and using ALARA techniques.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies, following department infection control practices and techniques.
- Complete necessary work sheets, logs, patient records, and documentation.
- Assume responsibility for teaching and educating new hires and students, maintaining own responsibilities and duties.
- Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS, including viewing images and confirming image/series counts.
- Complete study indexing, including study begin, study end, and completion in the Radiology Information System.
- Review and confirm clinical protocols with Radiologists before performing studies.
- Demonstrate Team member standards of excellence, including AIDET, open communication, and responding in a timely manner.
- Perform documentation in medical records and the radiology information system to support clinical and billing functions.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Registration in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) required.
- Maintenance of required hours of continued education.
- Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
