Job Summary

As a Field Planner at AVANGRID, you will play a crucial role in designing construction work orders using the Work Management System (WMS). Your responsibilities will include staking lines, preparing sketches, circuit maps, diagrams, estimates, and assisting with or performing other work necessary for the planning, preparation, and completion of construction and maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and prepare construction work orders using WMS.
  • Stake lines, prepare sketches, circuit maps, diagrams, and estimates as required.
  • Assist with or perform other work necessary for construction and maintenance projects.
  • Prepare and obtain private property easements and necessary information for municipal petitions and permits.
  • Investigate customer complaints and plan corrective action when indicated.
  • Carry out line inspection work and represent the Company on contract work.
  • Maintain necessary records.

Requirements
  • Must have at least a two-year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering technology or a related field, or seven years of line worker experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age with a high school education or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver's license without restrictions and a safe, responsible driving record.
  • Must be familiar with all kinds of line construction, materials, standards, and procedures, and have a working knowledge of circuits, feeds, switches, etc., in the assigned area.
  • Must have the ability and personality to properly represent the Company in the field.
  • Must be familiar with the Company's published instructions and directives pertaining to the work and have the ability to write or print legibly and make accurate estimates, records, and reports.
