About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Hazardous Building Materials Program Manager. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of environmental health and safety regulations, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the management of hazardous building materials
  • Conduct inspections and surveys to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and university requirements
  • Provide technical support to architects, engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders
  • Oversee and administer hazardous building materials abatement projects
  • Collaborate with campus partners to identify and implement process changes aimed at ensuring regulatory compliance
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a physical science, biological science, environmental science/engineering, occupational safety, industrial technology, or related discipline
  • Two years of related experience, or Master's degree in a related field
  • Knowledge of asbestos identification, building inspections, abatement, exposure control, and disposal practices
  • Knowledge of PCB identification, building inspections, abatement, exposure control, and disposal practices
  • Working knowledge of federal and state environmental and safety regulations, codes, and best measures related to hazardous building materials management
  • Ability to write scope of work, work plans, and final reports for submission to regulatory agencies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess current 40-hour AHERA Asbestos Contractor Supervisor certification, possess AHERA Asbestos Inspector certification
  • Experience working in an educational environment
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and blueprints
  • Five years of hazardous building materials management experience
