Job Title: HVAC Field Commissioning Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Field Commissioning Specialist to join our team at Custom Air Products & Services Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all aspects of job responsibilities in a safe, satisfactory, and timely manner to meet scheduled deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute all phases of work, coordinating with other disciplines/departments, to start and test units and systems, ensuring trouble-free reliable operation.
  • Conduct pre-startup work, including reviewing design engineering drawings, bill of materials, various checklists, and loading PLC or VFD programs.
  • Check and document the integrity of all components and their installation before connecting power and energizing each unit.
  • Document and perform various checks upon energizing equipment, including motor rotational check, belt and alignment checks, refrigerant charge optimization, and control sequences of operation.
  • Proactively identify and resolve errors, omissions, and deficiencies before Quality Control and/or field commissioning processes.
  • Provide technical assistance to operators and owners regarding the installation, startup, and operation of Factory HVAC systems.
  • Assist in training other technicians and staff when applicable.
  • Prepare records and reports describing procedures, actions taken, and recommended solutions.
  • Submit requests for supplies and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency warranty service repair requests.
  • Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices, following safety rules/procedures.
  • Review safety procedures before beginning each job with known hazards.
  • Establish good relationships and credibility with customers.
  • Manage time, priorities, and expenses effectively.
  • Drive and safely maintain an assigned Company vehicle, and travel to the site as assigned.

Requirements:

  • EPA Certification.
  • Texas HVAC Technician Registration.
  • TWIC preferred.
  • Basic Plus preferred.
  • Five plus years in the HVAC Industry.
  • Commercial or Industrial HVAC experience.
  • Knowledge of controls.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical wiring diagrams for troubleshooting and identifying errors and omissions.
  • Above-average control and refrigeration circuit troubleshooting ability.
