MLR Healthcare is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at a prestigious acute-care hospital in Texas. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide expert respiratory therapy services, adhering to established protocols to deliver therapeutic interventions and support patients' respiratory health and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians and medical staff to evaluate patients' respiratory conditions and create personalized treatment plans.
- Conduct Diagnostic Assessments: Perform evaluations to identify and address patients' respiratory needs.
- Work Schedule: Night shifts, including rotating weekends, consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week.
- Environmental Assessment: Evaluate patients' home or work environments and offer recommendations to enhance their respiratory health and independence.
- Data Management: Accurately document and manage patient information in electronic medical records.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
- Licensure: Must hold a Texas State License in Respiratory Care.
- Certification Maintenance: Maintain active status with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as part of the Continuing Competency Program (CCP).
- Credentialing: Newly graduated therapists must obtain CRT credentials and seek RRT certification within one year. If the RRT credential is not achieved, the therapist will transition to a Respiratory Care Practitioner role until certification is completed.
- BLS Certification: Required before engaging in patient care.
- ACLS Certification: Must be obtained within six months of hire.
- ENPC or PALS Certification: Required within one year of employment.
- NRP Certification: Must be completed within the first year.
