Job Summary

The Clinical Educator- ICU will provide and evaluate clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff on all shifts, ensuring staff competency upon hire and annually. This role will facilitate adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, while exhibiting leadership skills and ability to coach and develop staff to maintain and promote quality and affect change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with unit leadership to ensure staff competency upon hire and annually.
  • Support leadership by facilitating staff's adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Exhibit leadership skills and ability to coach and develop staff to maintain and promote quality and affect change.
  • Work collaboratively with the Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development to identify learning needs, develop and implement educational strategies, and participate in learning effectiveness evaluation.
  • Adhere to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Practice in Nursing Professional Development roles established by the Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD).
  • Provide patient care as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
