Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic-imaging procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department, including general radiography, mobile C-arm, portable x-ray exams, and Ortho Clinic. This role requires learning under the direction of the department manager and department coordinator, and refers to and complies with the routine projections list in the procedure manual. The successful candidate will assist physicians/radiologists when required and be responsible for assessing, treating, or caring for patients of all age categories, demonstrating age-specific competency. This position may be required to float to all Diagnostic Imaging locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic-imaging procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department
  • Learn under the direction of the department manager and department coordinator
  • Refer to and comply with the routine projections list in the procedure manual
  • Assist physicians/radiologists when required
  • Assess, treat, or care for patients of all age categories, demonstrating age-specific competency
  • Float to all Diagnostic Imaging locations as required
Requirements:
  • Graduate of AMA-approved School of Diagnostic Radiologic Technology resulting in certification from the State of California as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Evidence of continuing education in the Science of Radiologic Technology
  • CPR Certified
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist; pediatric experience preferred
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written skills
  • CQI team experience
  • Basic proficiency with computer system
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for up to 3 hours/day
  • Ability to stand/walk for 6-8 hours
  • Ability to bend/stoop for up to 3 hours
  • Ability to reach for up to 6 hours
  • Ability to use upper extremities for up to 6 hours
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25lbs, with assistance or equipment
