Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist - First Assistant to join our team at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. As a key member of our operating room staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Function as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures, utilizing your expertise and knowledge to maintain a safe and efficient surgical environment.
  • Assist OR staff in the assigned room/case, providing support and guidance as needed to ensure seamless execution of procedures.
  • Maintain the sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team, ensuring that all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are readily available.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from a surgical technologist program and completion of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon.
  • Three years of perioperative services experience, with a strong background in surgical assisting and patient care.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with preference given to those with Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA), Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), or Surgical Assistant, Certified (SA-C) certification.
